Our Programs

At 5 Bridges, we believe children are an essential part of the church community. Sunday mornings are not school or childcare but a time where we provide a biblically based foundation for children to to know, follow, and share Christ. We believe Christ-centered teaching is vital to develop a strong relationship with Jesus so that children can be life-long, confident disciples impacting the world for Him.

On Sunday mornings at Bridge Kids during the 9:00 hour, we offer classes for Kindergarten through 5th grade. There is a structured class time where the children spend time understanding foundational truths from the Bible, interacting with God’s word, and memorizing Scripture.

In Bridge Littles, we offer childcare on Sunday mornings for infants through two years old and preschool classes for 3-year-olds to young 5-year-olds for the 9:00 and 10:15 am service hours.

FAQs

  • Please visit our children’s welcome desk on the East side of our building to receive a check-in tag and help navigate our children’s ministry area. We also offer Worship service clipboards for kids to use during the service. The clipboards will have a sheet of sermon notes on one side and a coloring page on the other. There will also be a plastic bag with a pencil, some crayons, and a fidget item for the children to use. (Please return these clipboards to the kids welcome desk after the service.)

  • We do provide child care for children from the ages of six weeks to 5 years old every Sunday for the worship service hour, however, we only offer a worship service specifically for elementary-aged children on the second Sunday of the month unless otherwise stated.

  • At 5 Bridges, we believe corporate worship is a unique experience and the teaching of the Bible is not just for adults. Children joining their families in the worship service is an important experience for potential brothers and sisters in Christ. There are many examples throughout the Bible of children joining their families to hear God’s word. The Old Testament provides many wonderful pictures of entire families gathered together to hear God’s word:

“…when all Israel comes to appear before Yahweh your God at the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones and the sojourner who is within your gates, so that they may hear and learn to fear Yahweh your God and be careful to do all the words of this law. And their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to fear Yahweh your God, all the days you live on the land which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess” (Deut. 31:11–13, LSB).

We hope and pray that experiencing corporate worship as a family will foster conversations and learning of the love of Christ as a family unit. We also hope that participating in integrated corporate worship as a family will encourage conversations and foster a love for learning God’s Word.

  • Our pastors want you to know that noise and wiggling around do not bother them. We know that sitting in service with your children may be an adjustment initially, but children quickly become adjusted to the change as many of them have already adapted to sitting in classroom settings at school.

We do offer “sermon note” clipboards that include a note-taking sheet and bag of crayons for your kids to color and fill in. At the end of the service, kids may exchange their note sheet for a prize when they visit the “Next Steps” table in the foyer.

  • On Wednesday evenings, we offer a structured time to equip kids for their everyday lives by challenging kids to go deeper into God’s Word. Through Scripture memorization, a small lesson time, and other activities, kids will learn to better understand the Bible as a whole, and how to apply God’s word to their lives.

  • We place a high priority on providing a safe environment. Staff and volunteer team members are screened and trained, emergency evacuation plans are in place, and a health policy is present to help ensure a child’s protection.

“My favorite part about serving Bridge Littles and Kids is that as I teach them about who God is, He also teaches me through the kiddos.”

Hannah Gilmore, Children’s Director
